The foundation for the development of youth relations between the Russian Federation and the Syrian Arab Republic is the Agreement on cultural and scientific cooperation of March 30, 1995.
In accordance with the Agreement, Russia and Syria will develop cooperation and youth exchange and encourage direct contacts between youth organizations of both countries.
Syria is a permanent member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The Syrian Youth Assembly is an observer at the World Assembly of Youth.
