National Youth Council of Russia

The National Youth Council of Russia was established on January 10, 1992 on the initiative of 10 youth public associations.

The creation of the National Youth Council of Russia was supported in the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 1075 of September 16, 1992 "On priority measures for the development of youth policy in the Russian Federation."

At the moment the National Youth Council of Russia includes more than 50 youth associations (all-Russian, interregional and regional).

One of the main tasks of the National Youth Council of Russia is the organization of international youth cooperation, representing the interests of youth and children's social movement of the Russian Federation in the international arena.

The National Youth Council of Russia has consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council. It is the member of the UN Core Group on Children and Youth, the member of the Youth Council of the Asia-Pacific Interagency Youth Network (UN).

The National Youth Council of Russia is also:

  • the permanent member of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States, the Russian-German Council for Youth Cooperation and the Russian-French Committee for Youth Exchanges, 
  • the member of the national delegation in the Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States, 
  • the initiator of the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students in Russia (Sochi, 2017), 
  • the initiator of regular youth exchanges with North Korea and Venezuela, 
  • the founder of the programs "SDG Youth Ambassadors in Russia" and "UN Youth Delegates", 
  • the founder and organizer of the Russian-Azerbaijani, Russian-Armenian, Russian-Belarusian, Russian-German, Russian-Italian, Russian-Kazakh, Russian-Moldavian, Russian-Polish and Black Sea Youth Forums as well as the Youth Forum of Russia and the Balkan Region, 
  • the organizer of the Russia–Africa Youth Public Forum, 
  • the partner of the Russia-CELAC Youth Forum.

Until March 15, 2022 the National Youth Council of Russia was the permanent partner in the implementation of the Framework Program for Cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Council of Europe in the field of youth policy as well as the member of the European Youth Forum (until the Russian Federation left the Council of Europe).

Since 2009 the National Youth Council of Russia has been holding an Educational Seminar on the Development of International Youth Cooperation and Public Diplomacy "Public Diplomatic Corps" and the International Youth Camp "Dialogue". Since 2014 it has been holding the International Training Seminar for Youth on the Preservation of Historical Memory "Memory and Lessons of the Second World War".
