The goal: discussion of important issues of horizontal relationships between young people, a promising vector of the open dialogue between the CIS Member States.
For the first time the meeting of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States was held in an online format.
The participants: the Members of the Council from the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation and representatives with the powers of a Council member from the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan as well as representatives of basic organizations of the CIS Member States for working with youth and youth entrepreneurship development, the CIS Executive Committee. In total 24 people participated there.
As part of the work the reports and discussions were presented on the following issues:
- About the experience of the Russian Federation in attracting young people to participate in events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 and the organization of this work in the CIS Member States,
- About the progress of the implementation of the Action Plan for 2018–2020 for the implementation of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States for the period until 2020 and on the draft Action Plan for 2021–2022 for the implementation of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States in 2021–2030,
- About the experience of organizing a youth volunteer movement in the situation of the coronavirus pandemic and the implementation of the Concept for the development of cooperation among the CIS Member States in supporting the youth volunteer movement,
- About the creation of a data bank about the winners of the International Youth Project of the CIS Member States "100 ideas for the CIS" and the implementation of the Project in 2020,
- About the results of the Forum of youth public organizations of the CIS Member States in 2019 and the holding of the Forum in 2020,
- About the progress of the preparation of the draft Regulation "Youth Capital of the CIS" and on the practice of identifying youth capitals in the CIS Member States,
- About the progress of implementation of the Council decisions by the basic organization of the CIS Member States for working with youth,
- About the results of work in 2019 and work in 2020 of the basic organization of the CIS Member States for the development of youth entrepreneurship,
- About the International Youth Forum of the CIS Member States on the Sustainable Development Goals,
- About holding of the next meeting of the Council,
- About the chairmanship of the Council.
The results:
- The meeting of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States was held to strengthen and develop cooperation in the field of working with youth in the CIS, to promote the implementation of the Agreement of the CIS Member States on cooperation in the field of youth work of November 25, 2005.
- The participants reviewed the agenda of the meeting and made agreed decisions included in the minutes on 11 issues.
Following the meeting the key decisions were made:
- The Chairman of the Council, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Council, the Chairman of the Committee on Youth and Sports Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan A. Rakhmonzoda is appointed for the next period,
- The Regulation on the International Youth Forum of the CIS Member States on the Sustainable Development Goals were approved and the decision to hold the event in 2021 in the Republic of Azerbaijan was made,
- The proposal for the development and implementation by the Center for Assistance to Young Professionals of the Project "International youth business exchange of the CIS Member States for the development of youth entrepreneurship" was supported,
- It has been decided to study the issue of conducting the joint sociological study of the CIS Member States in 2021–2022 to study the situation of youth, to develop and approve the Interstate Program "Youth Capital of the CIS",
- The Action Plan for 2021–2023 for the implementation of the Concept for the development of cooperation among the CIS Member States in supporting the youth volunteer movement was approved,
- It has been decided to approve in general the draft Action Plan for 2021–2022 for the implementation of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States for 2021–2030 for its subsequent submission to the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS, etc.
