It is the annual event since 2019 that is held alternately in Uzbekistan and Russia in order to strengthen bilateral youth cooperation.

In 2022 the Agency for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan planned an event (Uzbek - Russian Youth Forum) to be held in Samarkand of the Republic of Uzbekistan from November 13 to 16 in person. According to the letter of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation No. MN-11/3819 dated November 11, 2022, the event for in-person format was postponed to 2023. In this regard, the Russian-Uzbek Youth Meeting (Uzbek-Russian Youth Forum online) was organized.

As part of the event discussion platforms "Young Science" and "Student Tourism" were held, and a lecture "Cooperation between youth of Russia and Uzbekistan in the fields of science and education" was also held. 

At the opening the participants were addressed with a welcoming speech by the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia, the Vice-Rector of RTU MIREA Grigory Petushkov, Coordinator of youth, cultural and humanitarian programs of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Uzbekistan Rostislav Voitekhovsky, the Director of the Information and Analytical Center for the Study of Socio-Political Processes in the Post-Soviet Space at the Lomonosov Moscow State University (IAC MSU) Daria Chizhova, the Head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan Alisher Akmaljonov.

The participants together with experts and speakers discussed the possibilities of interaction and prospects for youth cooperation, shared their experience.

Participants were young people aged 18 to 35 from Russia and Uzbekistan including students and graduate students, young professionals, leaders and project managers of youth public organizations / associations interested in implementing initiatives in their countries.

The application campaign was organized to give the opportunity to participate in the event including through the Yandex form (94 applications). As a result of the selection an invitation was sent to 83 people with a link to an online connection. The event was also attended by speakers, experts, organizers. In total 15 people participated there. 

Key results: The event facilitated the strengthening of friendly ties and the development of cooperation between youth and youth associations, Uzbekistan and Russia, promotion of joint interaction for the implementation of youth ideas and projects including interregional ones.

As a result of the event the number of proposals including the creation of bilateral programs for cultural and educational trips of students and schoolchildren, accessible to the majority of young people, creation of a project of the historical heritage of Russia and Uzbekistan for young people were received from the participants. It was also suggested to develop mentoring among young people in the framework of academic mobility projects, to promote the creation of a common platform for the community of young scientists in countries, to promote the creation of a working group on interdepartmental youth cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan and to use relevant tools to promote youth ideas and projects.
