The forum is held annually. It is an important joint event of youth cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia.

Participants were 70 people. They were representatives of republican / federal, regional youth public and student organizations, leaders of youth movements, leaders of youth projects, experts and guests.

In 2020 the 6th Armenian-Russian Youth Forum "New opportunities for youth: prospects for Sustainable Development" was held and included several blocks of the program such as opening with speeches by guests of honor and organizers, work of sections "Youth as a subject of social innovation and sustainable development of the country" and "Armenian-Russian youth projects. Opportunities and prospects" summing up results of the meeting with proposals for cooperation.

Guests of honor of the forum were the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Artur Martirosyan, the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Elena Druzhinina, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation Vardan Toganyan, the Charge d'Affaires of the Russian Federation in the Republic Armenia Alexey Sinegubov, the President of the World Armenian Congress and the Union of Armenians of Russia Ara Abramyan.

Participants were welcomed by the Rector of the Russian-Armenian University Armen Dabrinyan, the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia, the Director of the Institute of Youth Policy and International Relations of RTU MIREA Grigory Petushkov, the First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Russian Foreign Ministry Areg Agasaryan.

The first section touched upon issues of promoting the innovative activity of young people within the framework of state youth policy. Speakers of the second section on the topic "Armenian-Russian youth projects. Opportunities and prospects" touched upon life of young people in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic putting forward new initiatives, finding platforms for effective cooperation as well as youth volunteering.

Results

  • The annual bilateral Youth Forum was held to strengthen friendly ties and develop cooperation between youth, youth organizations, state structures of Armenia and Russia, promoting the implementation of joint youth ideas and projects, 
  • Participants made proposals for the resolution including continue the tradition of holding the annual Youth Forum and organize it in 2021, exchange experience on the implementation of youth policy in countries including successful scientific and educational practices. It was also decided to develop Armenian-Russian interregional relations in the field of education and science, culture, sports, tourism with the participation of youth organizations, support the promotion of innovative activity of youth in the framework of the implementation of cooperation between states. It was also decided to expand cooperation in the field of non-formal education of youth workers and promote the organization of joint events for the exchange of experience in cooperation with relevant state structures of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia, to promote the awareness of youth and youth structures about humanitarian youth projects implemented in Armenia and Russia, etc.
