The forum is held annually. It is an important joint youth event of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation.
Purpose:
Development of cooperation between representatives of youth public organizations and students, creation of conditions for the formation of bilateral projects and programs as well as for maintaining and strengthening friendship, interaction and mutual understanding of peoples. The next purpose was creation of an educational space to increase youth participation, development of intercultural dialogue and humanitarian cooperation between youth of states.
Participants were 52 people. They were young people aged 18 to 35 from Russia and Azerbaijan including students, young professionals, leaders and leaders of youth public organizations, representatives of government agencies.
In 2020 the 8th Azerbaijan-Russian Youth Forum included several blocks of the program such as opening with a speech by guests of honor and organizers, the work of the sessions "Intercultural dialogue. Preservation of historical and cultural heritage" and "Realities and prospects of youth cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation" summarizing results of the meeting with proposals for cooperation was held.
At the opening participants were greeted by the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan Intigam Vagifovich Babayev, the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Elena Sergeevna Druzhinina, the Chairman of the National Council of Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan (NAYORA) Azer Aliyev, the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia, the Director of the Institute of Youth Policy and International Relations of RTU MIREA Grigory Petushkov, the Head of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Azerbaijan Zinnurov Irek Khaidarovich.
Within the framework of the event plans for joint bilateral cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan were also briefly announced.
Results:
An annual bilateral Youth Forum was held to strengthen friendly ties and develop cooperation between youth, youth organizations, state structures of Azerbaijan and Russia, promoting the implementation of joint youth ideas and projects.
As a result of sections participants made a number of proposals including:
- Implementation of activities that unite the culture of youth of countries,
- Promotion of the project to create an interactive map of monuments, memorials to preserve historical memory,
- Assistance in information promotion of youth events and projects of our states among youth community and youth organizations,
- Development of youth tourism in countries, inclusion memory of Glory’ places in tourist routes,
- Assistance in the implementation of various competitions among children and youth of the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan on the topic of the Great Victory,
- Conducting teleconferences with the participation of veterans, volunteers,
- Conducting online excursions for schoolchildren to Azerbaijani and Russian museums.
As a result of the forum a resolution was adopted reflecting directions of further planned joint work.
