It was the annual international bilateral youth event. It became a platform for dialogue between young people and representatives of the legislative and executive authorities of two countries. Key topics of the forum in 2019 were good neighborly cooperation, expanding the range of communication and business ties between our countries, developing and consolidating efforts to implement state youth policy of Russia and Belarus, developing international youth cooperation as a factor in maintaining friendly relations.
On the final day participants of youth forum joined the work of the 6th Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus including the work of the plenary session with the participation of heads of state. This year the topic of the plenary session was interregional relations as the basis for the formation of a common cultural and humanitarian space of Belarusian and Russian people.
In addition to the main program, a sightseeing tour, a visit to the Peter and Paul Fortress, a ride on the Meteor, a visit to the Peterhof State Museum-Reserve were organized for participants.
Participants were representatives of republican, federal, regional youth public and student organizations, leaders of youth movements, leaders of youth projects of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.
In total 100 people participated there.
Key results
As a result of the Forum the resolution of the 7th youth forum of Russia and Belarus "Youth for the Union State" aimed at further strengthening friendship and cooperation between youth of both countries was adopted. Thus, on the basis of information resources of the Union State it was proposed to create a section on youth policy which will contain information about forums, projects, competitions, events as well as information from universities, student associations and public organizations.
Also, within the framework of the event cooperation agreements were signed between the National Youth Council of Russia and the Republican Union of Public Organizations "Belarusian Committee of Youth Organizations" as well as between the Smolensk Regional Public Organization of the All-Russian Public Organization "Russian Union of Youth" and the Vitebsk regional organization of the Public Association "Belarusian Republican Youth Union" about the Youth Council of the Borderlands.
