The international scientific and practical conference of the CIS "The role of youth policy and educational activities in the formation of ideological and value meanings and guidelines among the modern young generation" will be held from September 27 to 29, 2023 in Moscow as part of the implementation of the Agreement of the CIS Member States on cooperation in the field of youth work of November 25, 2005 and in pursuance of the Action Plan for 2023–2024 for the implementation of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States for 2021–2030.

The purpose of the conference is to present and summarize the results of scientific research on the value orientations of young people in the CIS Member States, to discuss current problems and identify effective methods for forming ideological and value meanings and guidelines among modern young generation.

The organizers of the conference are the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and MIREA – Russian Technological University acting as the basic organization of the CIS Member States for working with youth.

The conference is held with the support of the CIS Executive Committee.

The conference will be held in a hybrid format. The working language of the conference is Russian.

The following working sections are planned as part of the conference program:

  1. Civic-patriotic education of youth: a new reality, 

  2. Prevention of destructive social influence on young people on the Internet: mechanisms and technologies, 

  3. The role of volunteering in the formation of value orientations of young people.

The following people are invited to participate in the conference:

  • representatives of public authorities of the CIS Member States responsible for the implementation of youth policy, 
  • representatives of youth public organizations of the CIS Member States, 
  • employees of educational organizations of higher education of the CIS Member States responsible for educational work, 
  • youth policy researchers from the CIS Member States.

Possible formats of participation:

  • in person with a report (included by the conference organizers in the conference program). 
  • in person without report, 
  • online with a report (included by the conference organizers in the conference program), 
  • online without report.

Reports presented at the conference may include:

  • the results of scientific research into the value orientations of young people in the CIS Member States, 
  • problems of forming value orientations of young people and ways to solve them, 
  • successful practices of the CIS Member States in shaping the value orientations of young people.

Speaking at the conference is possible only if the participant provides a complete package of documents (application, abstracts, presentation) and receives confirmation from the conference organizers.

You must submit an application before 23:59 (Moscow time) on August 20, 2023 using the link for the participation in the competitive selection. 

If participation is planned with a report, the abstract of the report must also be attached to the application (in accordance with the requirements for the preparation of abstracts of the report).

The application does not guarantee participation in the conference. The candidates who successfully pass the competitive selection will receive notification letters no later than August 25, 2023.

The conference participants invited to present a report based on the results of the competitive selection will need to send the text of the report and the presentation of the report by email to dekker@mirea.ru no later than September 10, 2023.

The conditions for full-time participation in the conference:

  • the sending organizations cover the costs of travel for participants from their place of residence to Moscow and back, 
  • the conference organizers provide meals and single accommodation for foreign participants and Russian non-resident participants as well as transfers around Moscow as part of the conference program.

Based on the results of the conference the participants receive certificates (in electronic form), participants who gave a report included by the conference organizers in the conference program will receive a certificate of a speaker at the conference, participants without a report – a conference participant certificate.

A collection of conference materials will be posted on the website of the e-library "Youth of the CIS".
