The forum is held annually and is an important joint youth event of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation.
Participants
Young people aged 18 to 35 from Russia and Azerbaijan including students, young professionals, leaders and the heads of youth public organizations, representatives of government agencies. 42 people are from the Russian Federation and more than 140 people are from Azerbaijan.
Objectives and tasks
- Development of cooperation between representatives of youth public organizations and students;
- Creation of environment for the formation of bilateral projects and programs, as well as for maintaining and strengthening friendship, interaction and mutual understanding of peoples;
- Creation of an educational space to increase youth participation, development of intercultural dialogue and humanitarian cooperation between youth of states.
In 2021 the 9th Azerbaijan-Russian Youth Forum was held online, which included several blocks of the program such as: opening with a speech by guests of honor and organizers, the work of the sections "Prospects for youth cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation in topical youth areas", " Youth tourism”, “Issues of interaction and prospects for the development of the volunteer movement”, summarizing the results of the meeting with proposals for cooperation.
At the opening the participants were greeted by: Azer Aliyev, the Chairman of the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (NAYORA); Grigory Petushkov, the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia, Director of the Institute of Youth Policy and International Relations of RTU MIREA; Irek Khaidarovich Zinnurov, the Head of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Within the framework of the event plans for joint bilateral cooperation between youth organizations of Russia and Azerbaijan were announced.
The event was attended by representatives of large organizations of Russia and Azerbaijan, including National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (NAYORA), the Association of Public Associations "National Youth Council of Russia", the Union of Azerbaijani Youth under the NGO "Azerbaijan National - Cultural Autonomy of St. Petersburg", All-Russian public organization "Russian Union of Youth", youth union "New Azerbaijan", youth organization "Davam" of Azerbaijan, All-Russian youth public organization "Russian Union of Rural Youth", Association of Russian Youth of Azerbaijan, youth organization "Our Youth", Youth club of the branch of the Russian Geographical Society, Information and Analytical Center for the Study of Socio-Political Processes in the Post-Soviet Space at MSU, Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Moscow Region, Association of Volunteer Centers (AVC), Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations’ Union, the All-Russian public movement "Volunteers of Victory", the international youth organization "Dan" and others.
Results
An annual bilateral youth forum was held to strengthen friendly ties and develop cooperation between youth, youth organizations, state structures of Azerbaijan and Russia, to promote the implementation of joint youth ideas and projects.
As a result of the sections, the participants made a number of proposals including the creation of joint summer schools for the study of the Russian language, development of an exchange program for non-formal education trainers, training of tourist ambassadors to popularize youth tourism in Russia and Azerbaijan, and more.
As a result of the forum, a resolution was adopted, reflecting the directions for further planned joint work.
