The Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan is the central executive body implementing state policy and regulating youth work, physical culture and sports.
Tasks of the Ministry in the field of youth work:
- Education of younger generation in accordance with the strategic policy of social, economic and cultural development,
- Implementation of youth policy that meets the requirements of the democratic development of society,
- Implementation of national interests in building the creative abilities and skills of young people.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan is the permanent member of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States.
The legal basis for the interaction of the Ministry with Russian partners is:
- Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on cooperation in the field of youth policy of November 14, 2019,
- Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on cultural and scientific cooperation of June 6, 1995,
- Agreement of the CIS Member States on cooperation in the field of youth work of November 25, 2005.
The Ministry is the organizer of the annual Forum of Youth Initiatives of Russia and Azerbaijan from the Azerbaijani side.
