Russian-Japanese youth cooperation is carried out in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Japan on the establishment of the Russian-Japanese Youth Exchange Commission of March 15, 1999.

The "Russian-Japanese Youth Exchanges" seminar is one of the main events of the Plan of Russian-Japanese Youth Exchanges for 2021 approved by the Russian-Japanese Youth Exchanges Commission.

The purposes of the seminar are informing about possibilities of Russian-Japanese youth cooperation and getting acquainted with the methodology for conducting Russian-Japanese youth exchanges.

Participants: 

Representatives of state and public organizations of Russia and Japan interested in conducting Russian-Japanese youth exchanges (school teachers, representatives of universities, youth public associations, youth workers), representatives of organizations assisting the development of Russian-Japanese youth cooperation. In total 189 people participated there. 

Outcomes: 

The seminar program included a presentation on "Russian-Japanese youth cooperation", a presentation of the Japan-Russia Youth Exchange Center, a presentation of successful practices for implementing Russian-Japanese youth, school and sports youth exchanges as well as a Q&A session.

The experts of the seminar were the Deputy Director of the Institute of Youth Policy and International Relations of RTU MIREA D.A. Sokolova and the General Director of the Japan-Russia Youth Exchange Center Y. Tati.

As a part of the presentation of successful practices experience was presented by the head of the Japanese Center of Secondary School No. 83 with in-depth study of Japanese and English in the Vyborgsky district of St. Petersburg E.V. Ivantsova, the Director of the Japan Information Center, the Head of the Department for the Development of International Cooperation and Education of the Orenburg State University L.V. Dokashenko. Representatives of the Development Cooperation Department of the Administration of Tottori Prefecture K. Kageyama and V. Li, the director of Tamakawa High School in Fukushima Prefecture, the master of karate Kyokusinkan H. Okazaki also shared their experience. 

During the Q&A session participants received information on issues such us search for a partner organization, how to initiate Russian-Japanese youth exchange, funding opportunities for Russian-Japanese youth exchanges.
