Russian-French youth cooperation is carried out in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the French Republic on the development of youth exchanges of September 20, 2008 (came into force on May 1, 2017).
The meeting was held online as a part of preparations for the first Russian-French Youth Forum, the decision to hold it was made at the first meeting of the Russian-French Youth Exchange Committee.
The purposes of the meeting are the exchange of experience of youth public associations from Russia and France and the discussion of prospects for the development of Russian-French youth cooperation.
Meeting objectives:
- To determine priority areas for cooperation between youth public associations of Russia and France in the near future,
- To exchange ideas on holding the first Russian-French Youth Forum,
- To create the network of contacts between youth public associations of Russia and France to initiate further cooperation.
Participants: leaders and representatives of youth public associations interested in the development of Russian-French youth cooperation, representatives of organizations and institutions assisting in the development of Russian-French youth cooperation. In total 20 people participated in the meeting.
Results: Within the framework of the meeting presentations of the activities of the National Youth Council of Russia, the French Youth Forum, the Russian Student Sports Union, Russian Children’s Centre Orlyonok, the youth branch of the United Nations Sustainable Development Network in Russia (SDSN Youth Russia), the Youth Energy Agency BRICS, Regional youth public organization "Vladimir Euroclub" were made.
As a result of the meeting priority areas for cooperation between youth public associations of Russia and France in the near future were identified, which among other things will become the main topics of the first Russian-French Youth Forum:
- Contribution of youth to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (in the field of combating climate change and protecting the environment),
- Development of youth relations between partner cities and sister cities of Russia and France,
- Development of youth sports and sports volunteering.
In addition, the following agreements were reached. The first Russian-French Youth Forum will be held in August 2022 in Moscow, 25 people from each side among the leaders and representatives of youth public organizations interested in developing the Russian-French youth cooperation on the topics of the forum will be invited.
