The forum is annual and is held alternately in Armenia and Russia in order to develop bilateral youth cooperation and combine efforts for the effective implementation of youth policy of the countries.

In 2022 the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia planned the event to be held in Hrazdan of the Republic of Armenia in person from September 25 to 28. According to the decision of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, delegates from Russia took part in the forum online.

As part of the event thematic sections were held on the topics: 

  • "Active youth activities in the regions" (creation of youth spaces / centres in communities, the role of youth / youth workers in community development, work and activities of youth organizations in communities / regions), 
  • "Non-formal education and innovation" (development of youth abilities through non-formal education, support for innovative ideas, ways to increase youth involvement in the process of non-formal education, new platforms and opportunities),
  • "Youth activities in universities" (the role of student councils in the activities of universities, projects that promote the involvement and activity of young people in universities, self-forming councils in universities as an opportunity to realize the interests of youth), 
  • "Volunteer movement" (experience of the volunteer movement, legislative basis for volunteering, mechanisms for supporting volunteering). 

At the opening the participants were addressed with a welcoming speech by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Artur Martirosyan, the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Grigory Gurov, the Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the Russian Federation Arsen Arakelyan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin, the founder of the House of Russian Books in Armenia Mher Avetisyan.

The participants together with experts and speakers discussed the possibilities of interaction and prospects for youth cooperation, shared their experience.

Young people aged 18 to 35 from Russia and Armenia including representatives of republican, regional youth public organizations, leaders of youth movements, students of educational institutions of higher education, representatives of structures implementing youth policy in Russia and Armenia, interested in the implementation of initiatives in their countries took part there.

An application campaign to participate in the event was organized, the organizers received 194 applications. In total, 55 people took part.

Key results:

The event contributed to the strengthening of friendly ties and the development of cooperation between youth and youth associations, Armenia and Russia, implementation of youth ideas and projects including interregional ones.

As a result of the event the resolution in which the participants consolidated their proposals to create a space in the leading regions of Russia and Armenia for cooperation between young people as well as to develop a new Russian-Armenian student exchange program was adopted. 

The resolution included a proposal to create a Russian-Armenian youth platform, through which young people will be able to follow all relevant information on bilateral cooperation, take part in events conducting in Russia and Armenia as well as develop joint projects and propose their own initiatives.
