The foundation for the development of youth relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Botswana is the intergovernmental Agreement on cooperation in the field of culture, science and education of September 27, 1999.

In accordance with the Agreement, Russia and Botswana will promote cooperation between youth organizations.

The National Youth Council of Botswana is affiliated to the World Assembly of Youth and to the Pan African Youth Union.
