On November 23 the Russian-Mongolian youth meeting was held online dedicated to the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Mongolia and uniting more than 50 participants including experts, representatives of youth and student associations, universities as well as young specialists from both countries.

The program of the event contained two parts the official opening with the participation of officials from Russia and Mongolia and the panel discussion with representatives of the largest youth NGOs in Russia and Mongolia "Youth co-operation as a tool for strengthening bilateral relations between Russia and Mongolia: building the capacity of interregional youth dialogue and implementing joint projects."

Welcome speeches at the opening of the meeting were made by the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia Grigory Valerievich Petushkov, the President of the Social Democratic Youth Union of Mongolia, the Member of the Great State Khural Uchral Nyam-Osor, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Mongolia Iskander Kubarovich Azizov, the Appointed Ambassador of Mongolia to the Russian Federation Enkhtuvshin Ulziysaikhan, the Coordinator of the Deputy Group of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation for Relations with the Parliament of Mongolia, the Chairman of A Just Russia – For Truth Party Sergey Mikhailovich Mironov, the Director of the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Denis Valeryevich Ashirov, Head of the Department for Family, Children and Youth Development under the Government of Mongolia Batdorj Ganzorig, Head of the Russian House in Ulaanbaatar Amgalan Rinchinovich Bazarkhandaev..

The second part of the meeting was held in the format of a discussion during which participants exchanged best practices of youth work, shared their ideas for the development of Russian-Mongolian youth dialogue and identified further stages of co-operation.

Their initiatives and projects were shared by Denis Alexandrovich Zheleznyakov, the General Director of the Scientific, Educational, Cultural and Educational Project "Inner Asia", Sayhansanaa Khurelbaatar, the Vice-President of the Social Democratic Youth Union of Mongolia, Evgeny Vladimirovich Nolev, the Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists, Senior Researcher of the Department of History and Culture of Central Asia of the Institute of Mongolian Studies, Buddhology and Tibetology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Nyamsuren Shizhirbaatar, the Member of the Board of the Social Democratic Youth Union of Mongolia, Ellina Pekurovskaya, the Deputy Director of the Department for Youth Work of the Executive Directorate of the Russian Geographical Society, and Nandin-Erdene Byambazhav, the Member of the Board of the Social Democratic Youth Union of Mongolia and others.

Participants were 57 people including experts, representatives of youth and student associations, universities as well as young specialists from both countries.

Results: meeting participants exchanged experience in the field of youth policy and youth work as well as discussed prospects for the development of the Russian-Mongolian youth dialogue. The meeting has become an important platform for interaction and acquisition of useful contacts for further co-operation.

During the meeting priority areas of action were identified that can become the basis for co-operation between youth of Russia and Mongolia. Among the most promising areas of development of Russian-Mongolian youth co-operation the participants highlighted preservation of historical memory and common cultural heritage, international and interethnic dialogue as well as the development of youth ties and programs in the field of higher education.

Participants unconditionally agreed upon necessity to increase the number of joint events not only online, but also within the framework of live communication. Such projects may include student exchange programs or the organization of group tours in order to introduce a particular culture of states.

In addition, a proposal to hold the Russian-Mongolian Youth Forum in 2022 in person was announced.
