The forum is held annually. It is an important joint event for the development of cooperation between educational and scientific structures of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The first forum "Young scientists" was implemented in 2019. As a result of the event participants made a proposal to make it an annual event in order to expand scientific and business ties between research and educational structures of our countries, to consolidate efforts to implement state youth policy in the field of supporting young scientists.

Participants were young people aged 18 to 35 from Russia and Kazakhstan including students and graduate students, young scientists, young professionals, leaders and project managers of youth public organizations / associations. In total 82 people participated there. 

An application campaign was organized to participate in the forum including through the ADS Youth of Russia and through the Google form (226 applications). As a result of the selection an invitation with a link to an online connection was sent to 168 people to participate in the forum.

In 2021 the forum was held in a hybrid format (in person and online) and included several blocks of the program such as opening with a speech by guests of honor and organizers, thematic platforms "Scientific project: from idea to implementation", "Popularization of science and technical achievements: actual projects and initiatives", "Digital age and challenges of education", "Analytics, research and prospects: young science in Russia and Kazakhstan", "Prospects for youth development: business, digital and educational projects" summing up results of the meeting with proposals for cooperation.

As a part of the program participants were invited to get acquainted with modern formats for repackaging and presentation of scientific projects and their further promotion. A separate track was "Digital environment: changing the way of communication and a new space for interaction". 

At the opening representatives of the Government of the Samara Region, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the National Youth Council of Russia, the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation and others addressed the forum participants with a greeting.

Within the framework of sections participants exchanged ideas and projects of bilateral cooperation, youth developments, discussed prospects of youth in science and education. They also talked about modern trends in education and science in the era of digitalization.

Results

The annual bilateral youth forum was held to strengthen friendly ties and develop cooperation between youth, youth organizations, state structures of Kazakhstan and Russia, to promote the implementation of joint youth educational and scientific ideas and projects.

As a result of the event participants made proposals for the resolution including conducting online tours of advanced university laboratories in participating countries, conducting training sessions (master classes) for young scientists with the participation of experts from the scientific community. They also proposed to unite efforts of young scientists, public organizations, youth activists, researchers, entrepreneurs from Russia and Kazakhstan to build an inclusive partnership among young scientists-leaders to spread the SDGs in education and science, creation of a Russian-Kazakh community of young history teachers with the aim of implementing joint scientific projects in the future, organizing online meetings for students with leading scientists from Russia and Kazakhstan.

The forum has become a dialogue platform aimed at developing the scientific and educational potential of structures of Russia and Kazakhstan opening up opportunities for young people in the scientific and educational environment.
