On January 1, 2024 Russia took over the baton of the BRICS Chairmanship. One of the priorities of the Russia’s Chairmanship is to further promote cooperation in the field of youth exchanges.
The Russian 2024 BRICS Chairmanship is held under the motto "Strengthening multilateralism for equitable global development and security". In total, more than 200 events of various levels and focus are planned to be held in many Russian cities within the framework of the Chairmanship.

The following projects have taken place and are planned as part of the youth agenda of the Russian Chairmanship in 2024:
- February – the 3rd International Youth Volunteer Conference "BRICS To You" (online),
- March – the thematic session "Youth Dimension of the BRICS Countries" within the framework of the World Youth Festival (the Sirius Federal Territory),
- April – the International Youth Forum on Public Diplomacy "InterYES!" (online),
- July-August – the BRICS model within the framework of the additional general development programme "Young Diplomat School in Artek",
- July-August – the BRICS Youth Summit (Ulyanovsk),
- August – the BRICS Youth Camp (Ulyanovsk),
- 28 September – the BRICS Plus Youth Energy Summit (Moscow),
- September – the BRICS International School (Moscow),
- October-November – the International Forum-Competition of Young BRICS Researchers "Actual Problems of Subsoil Use" (St. Petersburg).
The 9th BRICS Young Scientists Forum (Nizhny Novgorod), the Friendship Bridge teleconference between the BRICS youth representatives (online), the BRICS Youth Science Schools "Methods and Technologies for Climate and Environmental Research" (the Sirius Federal Territory), the BRICS Youth School of International Negotiations in the Field of Climate and Environment (the Sirius Federal Territory) and the BRICS Plus Forum of Young Diplomats (Ufa) are also scheduled.
