The Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Funs together with RT Arabic is opening applications for the InteRussia internship program for foreign television journalists from the countries of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
The internship will take place from May 12 to June 9, 2024 in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
The InteRussia program provides young foreign journalists with the opportunity to get acquainted with the Russian agenda first-hand, work personally and learn from the experience of leading specialists from Russia today Arabic, exchange experiences with colleagues from different countries and also visit well-known educational and socio-political platforms and events.
Over the course of four weeks the participants will have the opportunity to meet with leading Russian experts and analysts, colleagues from Russian news agencies and will attend a number of practical trainings and master classes on various aspects of the professional activities of television journalists. In addition, foreign journalists will have the opportunity to attend the St. Petersburg Economic Forum (SPIEF 2024) which will be held from June 5 to 8.
The internship topic is "Russia and the MENA: ways to achieve balance in the new multipolar world".
The working languages are Arabic, English.
Applications will be accepted until 23:59 (Moscow time) on April 5. 2024.
Journalists from the Middle East and North Africa are invited to participate if they meet the following requirements at the time of application deadline:
- foreign citizenship,
- 25-35 years old,
- professional knowledge of English (not lower than level B2),
- native level knowledge of Arabic.
The selection of applicants for the internship will be made using a competition.
The selection criteria:
- professional experience of the applicant,
- professional level of the applicant’s published works,
- interview results (online).

- register on the English version of the Alexander Gorchakov Fund website.
- in your profile go to the "My projects" tab and select "Create an application" where you can mark the name of the program you are interested in and fill out the form.
The results of the competition will be announced on April 1. All candidates will be informed about the results of the competition by email.
The terms of participation:
The participants pay for:
- travel from the applicant’s place of residence to Moscow and back,
- double accommodation in a hotel,
- visa application,
- health insurance,
- stipend for the duration of the internship in the amount of 30,000 rubles.
The participants pay for:
- food during the internship,
- PCR test (if it is necessary and depends on the requirements at the time of arrival and stay).
