Russian-German youth cooperation is carried out in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany in the field of youth cooperation of December 21, 2004.
At the 16th Meeting of the Russian-German Council in the field of youth cooperation the importance of maintaining and strengthening Russian-German youth contacts in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic were noted. The Council supported the initiative of the Russian Coordination Bureau for Youth Cooperation with Germany and the German-Russian Youth Exchange Fund to hold a bilateral online seminar "Organization of youth exchanges in an online format" in 2021.
The seminar is one of the main events of the Russian-German youth, school and professional youth exchange program for 2021.
The purpose of the seminar was teaching the methodology of conducting youth exchanges online.
Participants were representatives of partner organizations from Russia and Germany implementing youth, school or professional youth exchange projects (representatives of schools, universities, professional colleges and youth public associations), representatives of organizations assisting the development of Russian-German youth cooperation. In total 40 people participated there.
Results:
The seminar program included three modules – module 1 "Peculiarities of working in digital format. Working with the target audience", module 2 "Online youth exchange program. Methods and tools", module 3 "Organization of youth online exchange. Resources and tools".
As a part of the first module participants got acquainted with differences between working online and in person while conducting youth exchanges, the Internet platform for youth exchanges organizers DINA.international and specific examples of the implementation of Russian-German youth online projects. As a part of the second and third modules of the seminar participants got acquainted with the methodology of language animation, learned about features of intercultural dialogue in digital format as well as about possibilities of financing youth online exchanges from Russian and German sides. The program of the second and third modules also included work in partner teams. The seminar resulted in ideas of joint online youth and school exchange projects in the field of studying the history and culture of Russia and Germany, the history of Russian-German relations, getting to know everyday life in a partner country, protecting environment, learning Russian and German.
