Acceptance of applications for the XXII Diplomatic Seminar of Young Specialists has started!

The Diplomatic Seminar of Young Specialists will be held from May 27 to June 1 2024 in Moscow.

The educational programme will focus on the use of new methods and technologies in international relations research, application of advanced software and artificial intelligence to collect and process massive data.

The lecturers of the Seminar will be leading Russian experts in the field of international relations as well as representatives of public and private companies applying digital technologies for data analysis.

The programme will be supervised by Maxim Suchkov, the Director of the Institute of International Studies at MGIMO University (https://t.me/imi_mgimo). 

The working language of the programme will be Russian.

The following people are invited to participate in the programme: 

  • Third year students and older, Master's and PhD students with specialisation in international relations, regional studies, political science, sociology, journalism, economics and law from all the regions of Russia.
  • Young researchers from near and far abroad with a level of Russian language proficiency sufficient for active participation in the Seminar.

Age of the participants: from 20 to 30 years old.

For applying it is necessary to: 

1. Register on the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund website. If you do not receive an email confirming your registration, please check your spam folder.

2. Go to the "My Projects" section, click the "Create Application" button, select the competition "XXII Diplomatic Seminar", click the "Yes" button. 

3. Fill in all mandatory fields as much as possible. In the "Apply" section click on the "Apply" button, wait for the status to change from "Preparing" to "Submitted".

It is necessary to send the organisers a research question, abstracts and sources of the future project for participation. During the workshop the participants will be able to select a tool to work on their research.

The participants are selected by the decision of the contest committee.

Applications will be accepted until 23:59 (Moscow time) on April 22, 2024.

All the candidates will be informed about the results of the competition by email by May 6, 2024.

The terms of participation:

  • Accommodation, meals and travel within Moscow within the programme are paid by the event organisers.
  • The participants pay for their travelling to Moscow and back.
