The Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Arab Republic of Egypt was established in 2015 through the transformation of the Youth and Sports Council that has been operating since 1979. It is responsible for the implementation of youth policy in the country.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Arab Republic of Egypt is the co-organizer of the Russian-Egyptian Youth Forum, which has been held since 2021. It is a platform for the development of youth cooperation between Russia and Egypt and the exchange of best practices in such areas as volunteering, creative industries, public diplomacy, youth entrepreneurship and innovation.

The legal basis for the interaction of the Ministry with Russian partners is the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Arab Republic of Egypt on comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation of October 17, 2018.
