From March 2 to 6, 2024 the 7th Global Forum of Young Diplomats "Diplomacy in the Era of a Multipolar World" took place on the federal territory of Sirius on the margins of the World Youth Festival bringing together 150 young diplomats from more than 60 countries.
The forum was organised by the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The programme of the event included:
- the working session "Youth Diplomatic Summit Russia – ASEAN",
- the working session "Success factors of New Age Integration Unions on the example of the EAEU and the CIS",
- the working session "Russia-Latin America: Interaction in the New Multipolar World",
- the panel discussion "The Legacy of the Russia-Africa Summit: new prospects for the continent's development",
- the Second International Round Table of Women Diplomats,
- the working session "International Humanitarian Cooperation. New Prospects for Cooperation",
- the working session "Russia – Arab World: a new look at established relationships",
- a ceremony of induction into the International Association of Young Diplomats.
On March 4, the forum participants met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, and on March 5, with the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova.
At the forum the young diplomats also had the unique opportunity to play a chess game with the Russian Grandmaster Sergey Karjakin and the Azerbaijani Grandmaster Teymur Rajabov.
One of the highlights of the event was a friendly football gala match between the teams "Diplomats of the World" and "Stars of the Festival" with the participation of the young diplomats from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Eritrea, Oman, Syria, Sierra Leone and Russia.
The forum resulted in the opening of the Secretariat of the International Association of Young Diplomats, which will be based in Moscow.
