The Project Office for International Youth Cooperation in the direction "Russia – the Arctic Council" was established in 2020 in Salekhard on the eve of the Russian Chairmanship of the Arctic Council 2021-2023.

The founders of the Project Office are the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and the Department of Youth Policy of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

The Project Office ensures the interaction of youth and youth organizations in Russia and the Arctic Council Member States.

One of the federal partners of the Project Office is the Student Research Club "Arktika" which has been operating since 2015 at MGIMO University.
