Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund

The Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund was created by the order of the President of the Russian Federation on February 2, 2010.

The goal of the Fund is to encourage the development of public diplomacy and to promote the formation of a favorable social, political and business climate for Russia abroad.

The Fund also implements the following areas:

  • assistance in the promotion of social, cultural, educational, scientific and managerial programs in the field of international relations,
  • international cooperation and assistance in the development of international relations.

The Fund provides support to Russian and foreign non-profit organizations and research centres of foreign policy orientation for the implementation of projects meeting the Fund’s statutory goals in the form of grants.

In addition, the Fund implements its own scientific and educational programs for young experts, public figures and journalists:

  • "Dialogue for the sake of the future" (participants from 25 to 35 years old from Russia, the CIS and Baltic Member States, Europe, Asia and other interested countries), 
  • Diplomatic seminar of young specialists (participants from 18 to 30 years old from Russia, CIS Member States, Europe and Asia), 
  • "Balkan Dialogue" (participants from 20 to 35 years old from Russia and the Balkan countries);
  • "Caucasian Dialogue" (age of participants is from 20 to 35 years), 
  • "Arctic Dialogue" (age of participants is from 20 to 35 years), 
  • School of Central Asia (age of participants from Russia and Central Asian countries is from 20 to 35 years), 
  • Youth Forum "Potsdam Meetings" (participants from 20 to 35 years old from Russia and Germany), 
  • International Youth Media School (participants from 18 to 30 years old).

The Fund accepts projects for the competition two times a year:

from January 15 to February 15 for the implementation of projects during the second half of the current year ("the first grant window"), 

from July 15 to August 15 for the implementation of projects during the first half of the next year ("second grant window").
