The XV meeting of the Russian-German Council on youth cooperation passed in Heidelberg

On November 19-22, 2019, the XV meeting of the Russian-German Council in the field of youth cooperation was held in Heidelberg.

The Russian delegation was headed by director of the department of the state youth policy and social projects in the sphere of the highest educations Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Olga Chernysheva. The German delegation was headed by the Director of the Department for Work with Children and Youth of Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth of Germany Thomas Tomer.

The sides discussed priority directions of bilateral youth cooperation for 2020. По итогам заседания была утверждена Программа российско-германских молодёжных и школьных обменов на 2020 год.

Decisions were made to hold joint events such as: Russian-German conference of youth exchange organizers “Youth must remember” dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the end of world war II; Forum of young representatives of local authorities of partner cities of Russia and Germany in June 2019 in Rostov-on-don; Russian-German forum of organizers of youth sports exchanges in September in Astrakhan and Elista; III Russian-German fair of partnerships in the field of professional youth exchange and the Russian-German thematic day “Professional youth exchanges” in September in Moscow.

Council members highlighted the results of the Berlin Dialogue on Youth Exchange held in November 2019 in Berlin under the auspices of the 15th anniversary of the signing of the intergovernmental Agreement on Russian-German Youth Cooperation.

There was also an exchange of actual information on the implementation of youth policy at the national level. The final minutes of the meeting of the Council were signed by the Co-Chairs of the Council Olga Chernysheva and Thomas Tomer.

The Russian-German Council on youth cooperation was established in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany in December 2004. As a result of the meetings, which passes annually, experts determine the priorities and the main directions of Russian-German youth cooperation.
