A long-term training course for project managers and trainers of events in the field of non-formal education for young people will be held from November 2019 to October 2020.
This is a complex project to develop the competences of the participants with different forms and methods of work for personal and professional development, as well as an opportunity to implement the practical experience of the participants.
The purpose of the training course is the quality improvement of educational activities in the field of work with young people in the Russian Federation through the expansion of the community of trainers with the necessary competences and sharing the principles and values of non-formal education.
The project has already begun with an installation seminar, which was held in Moscow from 23 to 29 of November.
The participants of the event were 31 people: representatives of youth social organizations, participants of non-formal youth associations, Staff of youth centers and youth trainers from Arkhangelsk region, Belthe region, Voronezh region, Kabardino-Balkan Republic, Kaliningrad region, Kirov region, Krasnodar territory, Nizhny Novgorod region, Moscow, Novosibirsk region, Perm region, Penza region, Republic of Bashkortostan, Republic of Komi, Republic of Tatarstan, Rostov region, Ulyanovsk region, St. Petersburg, Sakhalin region, Smolensk region, Ulyanovsk region, Chelyabinsk region, Yamalo-Nenets JSC, Yaroslav region.
Coaches of the National Youth Council of Russia and the Youth Department of the Council of Europe work with the participants: Ekaterina Scherer (Spain), Anna Feldman (Russia), Yulia Stankevich (Belarus), Ksenia Fedorova (Russia), Ruzanna Ivanyan (Russia).
During the first days of the installation seminar, participants met each other and the training course program for the whole period up to 2020. Expert from Lithuania, youth trainer with 20 years of experience, trainer of the pool of trainers of the Youth Department of the Council of Europe, author of key benefits in the field of informal education in Europe, Arthuras Deltuva introduced participants to principles and approaches of informal education.
The participants then discussed the relationship between non-formal education, youth work and youth policy in the Russian Federation: how it helps young people to make socially significant decisions. Participants also analyzed the main competencies of the youth coach and began to develop personal forms of self-assessment and development.
During the first face-to-face module, participants will have to start developing their own educational projects and activities, which they will implement for the youth of the regions, with the support of their organizations and institutions.

The setting training will allow participants to get involved in the educational process, to get acquainted with principles, approaches and practices of non-formal education in the youth environment, to formulate their own goals and tasks of training, to form motivation for improvement of quality of non-formal education and development of trainer ‘s competences. It is also planned to develop projects for further practical activities within the framework of the installation training.
Online part of training, November 2019 – September 2020
The online training will be on the training platform of the Council of Europe and will be aimed at further developing the knowledge and experience of the participants and facilitating the practice. Several training topic modules/blocks with individual and group tasks are planned in the online phase. They will be offered approximately once every 1.5 months.

One of the important parts of the course is the possibility of practical application of knowledge and skills. Participants will be able to implement their own educational activities, taking into account the principles and approaches in the field of non-formal education.
Mentoring, November 2019 – October 2020
During the course participants will be supervised by a team of trainers. One of the tasks of the mentor to help the participant in the development, preparation, carrying out and evaluation of the educational project within the framework of practical exercises, to support it in self-development, self-assessment and assessment of professional skills.
